For 27 June 2025, The Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, based on Luke 15:3–7
Jesus addressed this parable to the Pharisees and scribes: “Which one of you, having a hundred sheep and losing one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness and go after the one that is lost until he finds it? And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders and rejoices. And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my lost sheep.’ Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.

Thank you Connie for this great memory. Seeing the Shepherd and understanding his deep commitment to each of the sheep brings this parable alive! I so appreciate your connection between the shepherd and his father with Jesus and his Father. We have a God who loves and cares very personally. What a blessing!

What a memory! He whistles and they come, shep the dog gathers them. Sometimes we are like the Shep, listening to the Goos shepherd and we gather not with the speed of Shep the dog but with the speed of wherever the Uber driver takes us. Glad we find our Waze helpful! Looking to find more!

Connie – I finally was able to get the link and your message was worth my pursuit. I love the connection you make between the Good Shepherd and those, even in 2025, who spend their lives shepherding. I, too, in a visit to Ireland, had the experience of witnessing how keenly the sheep listen for and respond to the voice of the shepherd, a habit I pray to cultivate!
