For 12 February 2008, Tuesday of 1st week of Lent, based on Matthew 6:7-15
Jesus said: “When you are praying, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do; for they think that they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.
“Pray then in this way: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And do not bring us to the time of trial, but rescue us from the evil one. For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you; but if you do not forgive others, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Maria is a life professed lay Dominican who has retired from being a music educator for 39 years and married for 40 years to husband Bob, also a life professed Dominican. We both life professed in 1998. We have 3 children and 5 grandchildren. Jessica is married to Jim. She is a elementary teacher and works wonderfully with her students who mostly come from low incomes and Spanish -speaking homes. Son Rob is married to Carrie RN. Rob is Director of Family Ministry at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Az. . Jenny is a life professed Lay Dominican , graduated with her BA in English and is working part time as library asst. She serves in music ministry for our Dominican chapters. I have served in music ministry, as a lector at ASU Newman Center and help facilitate Dominican Lay formation in our chapter.
