For 18 June 2021, Friday of week 11 in Ordinary Time, based on Matthew 6:19-23
Jesus said to his disciples, ‘Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust consume and where thieves break in and steal; but store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consumes and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
‘The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light; but if your eye is unhealthy, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!

Thank you, Maria! Your words of wisdom touched me deeply. I, too, received my fist pair of glasses at age 7 and had the same experience. I know what you mean!

I always appreciate your message and look forward to listening when I see you have the preaching for the day. I was friends with one of our Sisters who was blind and I accompanied her to appointments. Finally she was offered a cornea transplant but she had to pray and discern if she would accept it. This was surprising to us but it was because God had been so present to her even in the loss of vision. She did accept the transplant and could see for 9 wonderful years until she slowly lost her vision again. Thank you for being so down to each in your sharing of the word.
