For 10 December 2008, Wednesday of 2nd week of Advent, based on Matthew 11:28-30

Jesus said: “Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

Marlene Laurendeau grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, being taught by the Dominican sisters of San Rafael; lived many years raising a family in Indiana; and in semi-retirement she and her husband moved to Maine, where he died five years ago.
