Recording/Sending your Reflection
You record your preaching by calling a telephone number in the United States and leaving it as a message on our special answering machine:
Telephone number: +1-641-715-3900 ("1" is our country code, you might need to put some other numbers in front to make an international call.)
Mailbox number: 31332#
We would like to have it two days in advance so that we are sure it gets up on the site in time. I suggest preaching three to five minutes after you read the scripture passage. Challenge me.
When you record your preaching, it would help us if you could give us a little information about the reflection first (we will erase this part before we put it up on the internet). The information that is listed on the site is noted below. Anything you do not supply, we will figure out from listening to your reflection, so supply what you can, but don’t worry if you skip some of this. Also, it helps our listeners if you read the scripture as part of your reflection.
Information we list for each reflection:
- Your name and the city in which you live
- Date of preaching and scripture used
- A title for your reflection, and themes it touches on
If the expenses of this telephone call are a problem, we have a calling card you can use to make it, with all expenses to be paid by theWord. Email me at steinkerchner@op.org for the access codes and find a local telephone number for your country or city.
Alternately, you can upload your own audio file or email it to us. All of the files used on theWord are encoded as MP3s, monaural, sampled at 11.025 or 22.05kHz, encoded at 32kbps. (This is a format that sounds good and can be streamed over a dial-up modem.) If you wish to email it, you could encode your file similarly so that it does not take too long to send.
