Then the disciples of John came to him, saying, “Why do we and the Pharisees fast often, but your disciples do not fast?” And Jesus said to them, “The wedding guests cannot mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them, can they? The days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast.

Karla has a DMin in Preaching from Aquinas Institute of Theology, a Dominican school sponsored by the friars of the Chicago province. Her 2012 doctoral thesis, “Are You Talking to Me? A Study of Young Listeners’ Connection with Catholic Sunday Preaching,” arose from her passion to more effectively connect the message of the gospel with our young people. In May of 2014, Liturgical Press published her book entitled “Connecting Pulpit and Pew: Breaking Open the Conversation about Catholic Preaching.” which is available at: here .
