For 14 November 2016, Monday of 33rd Week, based on Luke 18:35-43
As he approached Jericho, a blind man was sitting by the roadside begging. When he heard a crowd going by, he asked what was happening. They told him, “Jesus of Nazareth is passing by.†Then he shouted, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!†Those who were in front sternly ordered him to be quiet; but he shouted even more loudly, “Son of David, have mercy on me!†Jesus stood still and ordered the man to be brought to him; and when he came near, he asked him, “What do you want me to do for you?†He said, “Lord, let me see again.†Jesus said to him, “Receive your sight; your faith has saved you.†Immediately he regained his sight and followed him, glorifying God; and all the people, when they saw it, praised God.

Thank you.
BARTIMAEUS
Mark 10: 46-52
I heard the blind man cry out, and I didn’t know what to do
It was done with all his being, he was calling hard to you
He cried like he had never done before, as a desperate bird in flight
Asking you to free him, from his dark and empty night
You stopped and said you heard him, and called him forth to see
That no matter what would happen, with him you came to be
I watched it from my window, where I stood so safe and free
And wondered in my lonely heart, if your words were meant for me
I’m as blind as I’ve ever been, and I don’t know what to say
In my broken heart of self deceit, I pray you’ll pass my way
I cry as I’ve cried so often, Jesus Son of David, have pity on me
Free me from my doubts and fears, for with you I long to be
Like Bartimaeus in his plight, I’m as blind as blind can be
And I cry out in the darkness, dear Lord, set me free
Touch me with your kindness, for I long so much to see
In my dark night of confusion, my fear turns hard on me
Help me to be remember, when I’m not sure what to do
That no matter just how blind I get, I can always turn to you
