As We Forgive?
Podcast: Play in new window | Download
For 12 March 2019, Tuesday of week 1 in Lent, based on Matthew 6:7-15
Jesus said to his disciples:   “When you are praying, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do; for they think that they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.
“Pray then in this way:
Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And do not bring us to the time of trial,
but rescue us from the evil one.
For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you; but if you do not forgive others, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Sister, I just want you to know what a profound impact you have had on my life. I was just a poor child with sad conditions at home, and your love and dedication made the complete difference in my life. I haven’t seen you since my niece’s baptism some years ago, but would love to buy you coffee some time if you’re able.
I am attached to St. Joan of Arc now, and I teach two classes in their PSR program, 7th and 8th grade. I try so very hard to have half as much of an impact on them as you had on me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
