For 16 January 2021, Saturday of week 1 in Ordinary Time, based on Mark 2:13-17
Jesus went out again beside the lake; the whole crowd gathered around him, and he taught them. As he was walking along, he saw Levi son of Alphaeus sitting at the tax booth, and he said to him, ‘Follow me.’ And he got up and followed him.
And as he sat at dinner in Levi’s house, many tax-collectors and sinners were also sitting with Jesus and his disciples—for there were many who followed him. When the scribes of the Pharisees saw that he was eating with sinners and tax-collectors, they said to his disciples, ‘Why does he eat with tax-collectors and sinners?’ When Jesus heard this, he said to them, ‘Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick; I have come to call not the righteous but sinners.’

So sad that judgement is pass on against political leaders in a Christian preaching. It is not our place to judge

A statement of facts is not judgement. The judgement, if any, was made by the lustener, not the preacher.

Jim, Thank you for your comment. I realized after I submitted the preaching that I should have included the statement “You are who (whom) you follow!” Marianne

Dear Marianne, Thank you for your Jesus-like preaching. You have named exactly what has been in my heart. I hope you get a chance to read Nicholas Kristof in tomorrow’s New York Times, it is terrible that the “Havesâ€, such a small group are not asked to share with the starving children! You have given me much to ponder in prayer!
