Podcast: Play in new window | Download
For 16 December 2023, Saturday of the second week of Advent, based on Matthew 17:9a, 10-13
As they were coming down the mountain, the disciples asked Jesus, ‘Why do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?’ He replied, ‘Elijah is indeed coming and will restore all things; but I tell you that Elijah has already come, and they did not recognize him, but they did to him whatever they pleased. So also the Son of Man is about to suffer at their hands.’ Then the disciples understood that he was speaking to them about John the Baptist.

Thank you, Mary Ellen for your preaching.
Speaking truth to power is certainly one of the primary missions of our order. May we embody and live as prophetic preaching in our world today.

Thank you, Mary Ellen, for your preaching and reminder that prophets walk among us today and that, really, we are all called to be prophets.
