For 23 August 2024, The Memorial of St. Rose of Lima, based on Matthew 22:34-40
When the Pharisees heard that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered together, and one of them, a lawyer, asked him a question to test him. ‘Teacher, which commandment in the law is the greatest?’ He said to him, ‘ “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.” This is the greatest and first commandment. And a second is like it: “You shall love your neighbour as yourself.” On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.’

Very challenging Judith Anne. Especially this question and answer – “How do we measure our love for God? The measure of our love is the measure of love we have for the person we love the least.”

Grateful, Judith Anne for the challenging questions you asked of each of us from this passage.
One struck me when you asked us to: “Look in the mirror and ask yourself: “Do I really love and respect the person I see there?”
Thank for your thoughtful preaching of the Word,
Many blessings of the Spirit,

There are some politicians that I do not love but I wish them no harm.
