Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy,
To the church of the Thessalonians in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ:
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
We must always give thanks to God for you, brothers and sisters, as is right, because your faith is growing abundantly, and the love of every one of you for one another is increasing. Therefore we ourselves boast of you among the churches of God for your steadfastness and faith during all your persecutions and the afflictions that you are enduring.
This is evidence of the righteous judgement of God, and is intended to make you worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you are also suffering. To this end we always pray for you, asking that our God will make you worthy of his call and will fulfil by his power every good resolve and work of faith, so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Excellent preaching, Angela! So much to ponder! We in religious life have much to discern as it appears we are at an edge zone. Thank you!

Dear Angela, Thank you for encouraging us to enliven our imaginations this morning.
Standing in this edge space, we are invited to be bridgebuilders, just as our holy father Dominic was.
Standing on the edge also reminds us that we are called to go to the peripheries to welcome people into the church. May we have the courage to do that even when we have no idea what the future holds.
The early Christians had no idea and yet the love of God impelled them on. And so today, in the Scripture and your preaching, we hear God’s voice calling us to take that step forward in faith.
Adelante!

Thank you for inviting us to stand in the edge zone of our own lives and time. Personally and as church. May we humbly recognize God’s authority and our limits. I commit staying in the place of co-creating amidst of the complexities and challenges -with God’s help.

Well stated, Angela: make the choice to begin, stay committed, God will enable the growth. Got it!
