The word of the LORD came to Nathan: Go and tell my servant David: When your days are fulfilled and you lie down with your ancestors, I will raise up your offspring after you, who shall come forth from your body, and I will establish his kingdom. He shall build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever. I will be a father to him, and he shall be a son to me. Your house and your kingdom shall be made sure forever before me; your throne shall be established forever.

Thanks, Paddy, for your kind words. You and all of our dear friends Down Under are in our prayers these difficult days. An unusual kind of “blessed solidarity” seems to flow from these tragedies. It is a blessed glimpse of the Body of Christ. Peace … peace for our world.

I would appreciate some other kind of music that would begin the day’s reflection on the Word. Something that isn’t so jarring to the ear in the early morning!
