For 29 January 2016, Friday of 3rd Week, based on Mark 4:26-34
He also said, “The kingdom of God is as if someone would scatter seed on the ground, and would sleep and rise night and day, and the seed would sprout and grow, he does not know how. The earth produces of itself, first the stalk, then the head, then the full grain in the head. But when the grain is ripe, at once he goes in with his sickle, because the harvest has come.â€
He also said, “With what can we compare the kingdom of God, or what parable will we use for it? It is like a mustard seed, which, when sown upon the ground, is the smallest of all the seeds on earth; yet when it is sown it grows up and becomes the greatest of all shrubs, and puts forth large branches, so that the birds of the air can make nests in its shade.â€
With many such parables he spoke the word to them, as they were able to hear it; he did not speak to them except in parables, but he explained everything in private to his disciples.

What a privilege today’s reflection has been. A most moving and inspirational reflection through the grief of these parents, how their faith has been woven throughout this Gospel and their trust in God’s plan for their daughter. A wonderful example for us who are listening.
I visit this website often and very grateful for the reflections offered and when a real life story is woven into the Gospel I find this particularly helpful.

This comment is not in particular to this day, but rather, to say how grateful and important this website is. That people worldwide can hear the preaching of the gospel of truth. I grew up Protestant, and without causing offense, because we all love Jesus, I felt the preaching there was so polluted by personal theology and agenda, whereas the OP is pure and based upon the teaching and deeper understanding from the Church that Jesus gave authority to Peter and successor. I have successfully listened daily all of last year and that will continue, I read all of your biographies and love and pray for you all. I just can’t help but feel enlightened, and so at peace after listening, I just had to say thank you for that joy.
