How Great to be Called!

For 11 June 2022, Memorial of Saint Barnabas, Apostle, based on Matthew 10:7-13

Jesus said to the Twelve: As you go, proclaim the good news, “The kingdom of heaven has come near.” Cure the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. You received without payment; give without payment. Take no gold, or silver, or copper in your belts, no bag for your journey, or two tunics, or sandals, or a staff; for labourers deserve their food. Whatever town or village you enter, find out who in it is worthy, and stay there until you leave. As you enter the house, greet it. If the house is worthy, let your peace come upon it; but if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you.

About Sr. Magdalen Coughlin, O.P.

I am a Dominican Nun, a native Canadian and member of the Squamish British Columbia community, a new foundation in Western Canada, We are establishing a monastic community here in the Canadian wilderness. We welcome visitors and retreatants who come to this place, sometimes purposefully, sometimes blindly, in search of silence, rest, healing, and often, for meaning in the chaos of life. It is of course the God of Love who draws them, and it is our privilege to be here for them.
