Podcast: Play in new window | Download
For 19 July 2022, Tuesday of week 16 in Ordinary Time, based on Matthew 12:46-50
While he was still speaking to the crowds, his mother and his brothers were standing outside, wanting to speak to him. Someone told him, ‘Look, your mother and your brothers are standing outside, wanting to speak to you.’ But to the one who had told him this, Jesus replied, ‘Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?’ And pointing to his disciples, he said, ‘Here are my mother and my brothers! For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.’

Sr. Mary Ellen,
Very profound “take” on your WHO IS MY MOTHER homily today.
Wow!!! Would that all the many relationships that “are”
today around the world would plug into this truly
all embracing understanding of FAMILY. My sister in
law Mildred is of Puerto Rican culture and always reminds
us, just like Frank in BLUE BLOODS on CBS how important
family is. BUT, now I’m thinking that the BLUE BLOODS
take stays with what you call the biological take, Thanks again.
Woops!!! I’ve practically done another whole homily!
