For 22 April 2023, Saturday of the second week of Easter, based on John 6:16-21
When evening came, Jesus’ disciples went down to the lake, got into a boat, and started across the lake to Capernaum. It was now dark, and Jesus had not yet come to them. The lake became rough because a strong wind was blowing. When they had rowed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus walking on the lake and coming near the boat, and they were terrified. But he said to them, ‘It is I; do not be afraid.’ Then they wanted to take him into the boat, and immediately the boat reached the land towards which they were going.

Thanks You Barbara, for your preaching today. You offer us a much needed message in these days of fear — fear of gun violence, fear of losing our democracy, fear of climate change, fear of nuclear war.The tomb is empty and Jesus is with us to face our fears and to act together in our world with him.

Thanks Barbara,
So true..fear can blind us from recognizing and trusting in God to be there for us.
