He has touched us

For 6 September 2009, 23rd Sunday, based on Luke 7:31-37
“To what then will I compare the people of this generation, and what are they like? They are like children sitting in the marketplace and calling to one another, ‘We played the flute for you, and you did not dance; we wailed, and you did not weep.’ For John the Baptist has come eating no bread and drinking no wine, and you say, ‘He has a demon’; the Son of Man has come eating and drinking, and you say, ‘Look, a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ Nevertheless, wisdom is vindicated by all her children.â€
One of the Pharisees asked Jesus to eat with him, and he went into the Pharisee’s house and took his place at the table. And a woman in the city, who was a sinner, having learned that he was eating in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster jar of ointment.

Thank you.
Prayer – Touch me Lord
Touch me Lord that I may see
That I may hear you too
Please help me come to realize
That’s what you want to do
Open my eyes as only you can
In the shadows where I live
That I may come to see dear Lord
The gift you’ve come to give
That I may feel your presence
Protecting me night and day
Forgiving me for doubting
When I have turned away
That I may feel your mercy
When I’m blind as blind can be
Touch me with your precious grace
That you may sent me free
Touch me Lord when I hide from you
In my life of self deceit
When in my pride and arrogance
Your love I come to cheat
Touch me Lord when I cry out
Like a beggar in the night
Who hungers for your kindnness
Yet resists with all his might
Touch me Lord and make me feel
Your sacred life divine
The very life you came to give
That I might call you mine
Please touch my ears and touch my tongue
And please Lord touch my heart
When I have turned my back on you
To stumble in the dark
Help me believe despite myself
What you’re asking me to do
That no matter how very lost I am
You want me to touch you too
