A Demonstration of Spirit and Power
Podcast: Play in new window | Download
For 29 August 2016, Monday of 22nd Week, based on 1 Corinthians 2:1-5
When I came to you, brothers and sisters, I did not come proclaiming the mystery of God to you in lofty words or wisdom. For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and him crucified. And I came to you in weakness and in fear and in much trembling. My speech and my proclamation were not with plausible words of wisdom, but with a demonstration of the Spirit and of power, so that your faith might rest not on human wisdom but on the power of God.

Ruth I very much enjoyed your use of the song “What we did for love” as it was a coincidence that I attended a Lecture recently and Father included the song “I’ve got you under my skin”. It is a lovely way of using the words of some of these songs expressing our deep love of Jesus and a light-hearted way of expressing our genuinely deep feelings of love.

Joan Bukrey. Paul talked of his foolishness which was wisdom. This story of Bill powerfully explains that!

Thanks for your example, Joan! Sharing our story can be very powerful! I wish more preachers did that type of sharing.
