For 10 December 2021, Friday of the second week of Advent, based on Matthew 11:16-19
Jesus said, ‘But to what will I compare this generation? It is like children sitting in the market-places and calling to one another,
“We played the flute for you, and you did not dance;
we wailed, and you did not mourn.â€
For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, “He has a demonâ€; the Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, “Look, a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax-collectors and sinners!†Yet wisdom is vindicated by her deeds.’

Wonderful reflection, Sr. Rose! I like how you interwove historical, biblical and spiritual practice into your single message of paying attention to God’s arrival into our small and ordinary lives. Thank you.

Dear Sr Rose, Your preaching life is beginning as mine is ending! I also was English born, but joined the Australian Dominicans, and have had a wonderful life doing all sorts of ministries and enjoying all of them, especially working with young people. I ended up joining a preaching team, and giving parish renewals all over USA, Australia and New Zealand. We were a mixed gender and mixed Religious orders, Dominican and Franciscan. Preaching is in my heart and soul! When I began I was a real novice! A great Dominican friend told me to use stories, my own personal ones to relate to people and help them remember their stories. I know that will help you in your preaching too. With love and prayers, Fr Nick Punch

I was inspired by your message but had a difficult time keeping up, trying to absorb everything. For persons like me who have a hearing disability, slower talking is better. I look forward to your future preaching. You have much to offer. Thank you.
