For 1 January 2024, The Solemnity of Mary, the Holy Mother of God, based on Luke 2:16-21
The shepherds went with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the child lying in the manger. When they saw this, they made known what had been told them about this child; and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds told them. But Mary treasured all these words and pondered them in her heart. The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, as it had been told them.
After eight days had passed, it was time to circumcise the child; and he was called Jesus, the name given by the angel before he was conceived in the womb.

Hi,
I have been thinking of the beauty and importance of what the Bible calls intercession. I heard recently that part of the definition of the Hebrew word “pagha” (intercession) is “to strike upon”. As you described what Helen did you used the words that what she did “struck you” and “left a lasting impression.” Helen interceded for you in a beautiful, meaningful and important way. And, thankfully, we also have others who are intercessors for us on our journey to see Christ and proclaim the Good News today. Thank You, Mary, for your teaching that what we do by sharing can bring others to a place where they can find comfort and salvation.
