For 13 June 2009, St. Anthony of Padua, based on Isaiah 61:1-3
The spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me; he has sent me to bring good news to the oppressed, to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and release to the prisoners; to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn; to provide for those who mourn in Zion— to give them a garland instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the mantle of praise instead of a faint spirit. They will be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, to display his glory.

Thank you
CARITAS
It’s a solemn golden treasure
That never turns to rust
It’s a true and living bonding
It’s the life in which we trust
It’s the source of all creation
That cannot be bought and sold
It’s the very cell of being
That the life of man does hold
We have shared it with each other
When we sought to ease our pain
It’s the very cloak of caring
That our spirit seeks to claim
We have sought to share its secrets
With our heart and with our mind
To proclaim its praise in verse
Seeking always words to find
Unto us it has been given
To be blessed with kindness free
That we might in humble manner
It’s full meaning come to see
In the fullness of our being
In all that we seek to give
We find there in simple splendor
How it is that we should live
