For 3 January 2024, The Most Holy Name of Jesus, based on John 1:29-34
John the Baptist saw Jesus coming towards him and declared, ‘Here is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! This is he of whom I said, “After me comes a man who ranks ahead of me because he was before me.” I myself did not know him; but I came baptizing with water for this reason, that he might be revealed to Israel.’ And John testified, ‘I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it remained on him. I myself did not know him, but the one who sent me to baptize with water said to me, “He on whom you see the Spirit descend and remain is the one who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.” And I myself have seen and have testified that this is the Son of God.’

I appreciated this message and want to share a poem I wrote in the last month that ties into your message about the gift that Jesus gives. The poem is shareable. But greater, much greater, is, as you say, the gift we can receive from Jesus: Jesus wants us to open our hearts and receive the Spirit!
Wonders and joys
Are ours this season
Fires warmed
or shivers freezing’
Season’s blessings
Not wrapped in paper
But swaddled in
The arms of nature
Stars and shepherds
Gave testimony
Of divine Light
And holy glory
This gift of God
For fools folly
Wise ones cherish
His love embody
Gifts to him
We vainly seek
Yet, He gives all
To all hearts meek
This blessed day
This holy night
Let us rejoice
This our hope and our right!
